OUR STORY

In 2012, Henry Kaufman was suddenly paralyzed in both arms and legs by Guillain-Barré Syndrome. After fighting to recover at least some of his mobility, and not one to be sidelined from the active and engaged life he was used to living, Henry looked for new ways to do the things he enjoyed.

Disappointed by the options available, Henry founded Mobella along with his wife Meryl Unger. Their goal was to put thoughtful, human-centered design at the center of every Mobella innovation, partnering with world-class designers and leading academic and industry partners. Together, they set out to reimagine what mobility products could be — solutions that better and more boldly represent the people they’re made for.
